How to: Connect your own Twilio account

Booth.Events automatically sends text messages (SMS) as part of your plan no extra cost or setup required. You do not need your own Twilio account to send texts.

Why Connect Your Own Twilio Account?

You might want to connect your own Twilio account if you want to:

  • Use a specific phone number for texts
  • Send texts to countries Booth.Events doesn’t support by default

Note: This option requires a Pro+ subscription and is recommended for advanced users only.

Important: Expert Use Only

Managing your own Twilio account is complex. You must:

  • Register your A2P (Application-to-Person) campaign
  • Comply with laws in every country where you send texts
  • Troubleshoot any issues yourself — Booth.Events does not support your personal Twilio account if problems arise

How to Connect Your Twilio Account

  1. Log in to your Booth.Events account on the web and go to Account > Sharing Settings > Text Settings.

  2. Select Use my own Twilio account.
  3. Enter your Twilio account details from your Twilio console.


  4. Set your maximum price per SMS in USD (for example, 0.10 means you won’t pay more than 10 cents per text). This limits your costs.
  5. Click Connect Account.

If your details are correct, your Twilio account will connect successfully. You can then send a test text to check everything works.


Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Twilio setup:

  • Disconnect your Twilio account in Booth.Events
  • Switch back to using Booth.Events’ default texting service
  • Note that Booth.Events support cannot assist with Twilio account problems
