How to duplicate an event from another account / white-label setup

This article covers making a copy of an event from a different Booth.Events account. There are many reasons you might want to do this, here are two:

• You are setting up the event, but someone else (with a different account) is running it - white-label scenario
• You are creating another account for yourself, for example because you don't want to login with Apple anymore and you want to have an email + password instead, and you want to copy over the work you've already done on the old account

On the "FROM" side

Follow these steps on the account that has the event you want to copy.

1. Go to the Account page (https://dashboard.booth.events/account)
2. Note down your "Account ID" (at the top, in the profile section)
3. (only need to do this once) Hit Edit Profile, turn the switch on next to "Allow other accounts to duplicate my events if they know the Event ID"
4. Hit Save

By default, no one can copy your events. Once you turn that switch on, anyone who knows (or can guess) the Event ID you set on an event can copy your event. See below for what's not copied.

Keep in mind that events do not have an ID by default, so by default an event still cannot be copied.

So let's set an ID on your event now: you need to do this for each event that you want to duplicate

1. Go to the Event page, hit Edit Event
2. Enter an alphanumeric value in "ID (searchable)", in the image below you can see the ID is "myeventid"
3. Hit Save Changes

On the "TO" side

Follow these steps on the account where you want the event duplicated to:

1. Go to the Event page, hit Create Event
2. In the popup, give the event a name and a date. These values will still be used even after duplication — you're choosing the name & date here.
3. Choose "From another account", and fill in the Account ID & Event ID (see "FROM" section above)

After duplication, there's no "link" between the events

Once you've duplicated the event from the other account, it has no relation to the original event. If one event changes (the original, or the copy), the other one is not affected in any way.

If the original owner makes new changes, the duplicated event will not change. You can just copy it again if you need to.

What's NOT copied

The following are not copied:

• Gallery passcode & privacy settings
• social URLs
