It's easy to print from Booth.Events on macOS! This video shows you how:

Gotchas: Printing from iPad to Mac

"Not Authorized" error

This error means your printer has an access control preventing you from accessing it on your Mac. There are two ways to fix this.

  • Easiest way: the Booth.Events app will remove this access control automatically if you run it on your Mac.

    • Download the Booth.Events Mac app from the link below

    • Run the app on your Mac, do one print, and then you can remove the app from your Mac.

    • Make sure you are running the app as an administrator (default on Mac)

  • Faster way, for experts:

    • Open Terminal

    • Run lpstat -v to see the name of your printer(s), like DNP_QW410

    • Run lpadmin -p <printerName> -u allow:all to remove the access control

Wrong paper size error, or printed incorrectly

Update the iOS app to at least version 1.50.1 on your iPad. There was an issue in earlier versions that stopped the "Choose Paper" selection from working correctly. You must select the exact paper that is loaded in the printer.

STEPS (these are shown in the video)

  1. Download the app from our website, not the App Store. If you have the App Store version, delete it, and download this one instead: https://solo-storage-1.b-cdn.net/booth-macos-standalone.zip

  2. In the macOS Settings app, turn on Printer Sharing, share the specific printer, and set the access for the printer for "Everyone" to "Can Print". See the screenshots below.

  3. In the Booth.Events app, add the printer(s) you shared from your Mac.

If you find that your prints are not rotated correctly, watch the video above: your template size doesn't match your printer's paper size which is what causes the issue.

Your template size must match your printer's paper size.

Backup Option: "Foreground" printing

If you have trouble with the method shown above, you can remove the printer in the Booth.Events app, but keep printing enabled. When you do this, each time the "Print" button is hit a macOS-native user interface will popup for printing.
