Guests are not receiving texts

Recent changes to spam protocols have cause some SMS to be filtered on device or by the carrier.

Written by Shane McLoughlin

If a guest tells you they didn't receive their photo text message, the first place to check is their SMS spam or junk folder.

We've taken steps to reduce this, but some devices and carriers may still mark these messages as spam - especially when custom messages are used.

Have the guest follow the steps below for their device.

  1. In Messages, tap the Filters button.

  2. Tap Spam.

  3. Tap the message you want to review.

  4. Tap Not Spam.

  5. Tap Move to Inbox or Move to Inbox and Report Not Spam. The message you selected now appears in your conversations list.

Android

Android has several messaging apps. Samsung phones most likely use Samsung Messages; other Android phones most likely use Google Messages.

Samsung Messages

1. Open the Messages app.

2. Tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.

3. Select Settings.

4. Tap Block numbers and messages.

5. Tap Blocked messages to see filtered messages.

Google Messages

1. Open the Messages app.

2. Tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.

3. Select Spam & blocked.

4. Check for the message in the spam folder

Best Practices

Reset back to default messaging.

If you used custom messaging reset back to default under booth.events/account

Make sure to use Opt -out, without opt-out enabled the chances of your message being flagged as spam increase.
