Quick answer: open the app and check for waiting uploads. If uploads are stuck, it is almost always the internet connection: get off venue wifi, try your phone's hotspot, then restart the app. No waiting uploads? Check the iPad's Photos app and the events next to yours on the home screen.
Photos and videos are saved on the iPad first and then uploaded to the gallery. If they are missing from the gallery or guests did not get them, start by finding out whether they are still waiting to upload.
Do I have uploads waiting in the app?
Open the Booth.Events app on your iPad.
In an event: hold two fingers on the screen to show the in-event menu. It shows how many pending uploads you have.
Not in an event: go to the home screen and look at the Uploads section.

How do I get stuck uploads moving?
If you have uploads stuck in the app, that means the app can't reach the server. Work through these in order and check your uploads after each one.
1. Check in Safari
The #1 cause for this is your internet connection. Open the Safari app on your iPad and browse to booth.events. If you see a login screen or warning screen first, or our website does not load at all, you need to change your internet connection.
2. Do not use venue wifi
⚠️ Important: public wifi and venue (event hall) wifi are notorious for all kinds of problems, including blocking uploads. Do not use venue wifi.
You need an internet connection that can sustain at least 1 Mbps upload speed.
3. Try your mobile hotspot
Connect your iPad's wifi to your cell phone's hotspot. Then go back to the Booth.Events app and see if your uploads start moving.
4. Restart the app
Force quit the app (swipe the app away), open it again and see if your uploads start moving.
Swipe up slowly to show the app switcher, then swipe the app away
5. Check for a VPN or Device Management Profile
Open the Settings app.
Go to General > VPN & Device Management (near the bottom).
Make sure you only see "VPN Not Connected".
⚠️ Important: if your iPad is from your work or school, a device management profile may block uploads. Ask your IT department to allow uploads from our app. Unfortunately we cannot help with this, so please do not contact support if you have a device management profile active.
6. Check for an app update
Go to the App Store, search "booth.events" and open our app's page. If the button says Update, update the app and try again.
No waiting uploads? Check the camera roll
Open the Apple Photos app. The Booth.Events app always saves each photo and video it takes to the camera roll, so if they are not there, the app did not take them.
If the photos are on the camera roll but not in your gallery, and you have no waiting uploads, the most likely cause is that the wrong event was launched:
Go back to the app's home screen.
Note which events are directly above and below your event, and check their galleries.
Also check the last launched event, in case the app opened into the last event that was used.
⚠️ Important: we cannot move photos or videos between galleries. You always have them on the iPad's camera roll as a last resort.
Photos are on the iPad but not in the gallery: was Preview Mode on?
Photos taken while an event is running in Preview Mode are saved to the iPad only. They are not uploaded to the gallery and are not sent to guests. When an event is in Preview Mode, a banner shows on the screen.
If you have no pending uploads, the photos are not in any nearby event's gallery, and they are in the Photos app, the event was most likely run in Preview Mode. Those photos cannot be sent from the Booth.Events app afterwards; you will need to share them with guests separately from the Photos app.
💡 Tip: Preview Mode is great for testing your setup. Exit it and launch the event normally before guests arrive.

Photos disappeared from an old gallery?
When an event's gallery expires, its photos are permanently deleted from the gallery. They will still be in the iPad's Photos app. See Gallery Expiration and Limits.
