How To: Event Links

Want guests to get something better than a random shared.gallery web address? Event Link lets you use your own custom URL for the event.

Written by Shane McLoughlin

Booth.Events lets you choose exactly what URL goes out for an event's gallery - point it at your own custom domain, or set a vanity link built just for that event. It's available on Pro+ memberships.

Where to set it up

Open the event and select Edit on the event title under your gallery settings. From there you'll have the option to set the event's gallery link.

The three link options

(Default) Shared.Gallery link

The auto-generated shared.gallery address. No setup needed - this is what every event uses unless you change it.

If you've connected a custom domain to your account, you can use it for this event's gallery link instead of shared.gallery.

An Event link

Sets a custom Vanity URL for your event. Completeley removes your account name and domain from the URL.

Changing Your Event Link

You can change an event's link right up until the gallery has captures in it. Once photos or videos have been added to the gallery, you can no longer set a new event link. From that point on you can still switch between your custom domain and the default Shared.Gallery link, but not to a different custom link.

Works Offline

If you change an event's link while a device is offline, the change won't take effect on that device until it reconnects to the internet.

A Few things to know

- Available on Pro+ memberships only.

- Whichever link you've set, the gallery and its sessions stay accessible at that link for as long as the gallery is active (i.e., hasn't expired).

- Custom event links are first-come, first-served — they must be unique event to event.

- Once a gallery has captures in it, a new event link can no longer be set; only switching between your custom domain and the default Shared.Gallery link is still possible.
