Event Credits: When They Are Used and Where to See Them

When an event credit is used, how to avoid wasting one, and where to see how many credits you have left.

Written by Gregory B.

Quick answer: a credit is used the moment you create an event (or duplicate one), not when you launch it. Your remaining credits are shown at the top of the Events page in the dashboard. Credits come in packs of 4 and do not expire.

Event credits let you unlock Pro features for one event at a time, without an auto-renewing subscription. This article explains exactly when a credit is used, how to check how many you have left, and how to avoid using one by mistake. For prices and plan levels, see Understanding Plans & Pricing.

How are event credits sold?

  • Event credits are sold in packs of 4. There is no option to buy a single event.

  • Event credits do not expire, and you can buy more than one pack.

  • Each credit gives one event the Pro plan level, with the same Pro features as a Pro subscription.

When is an event credit used?

A credit is used the moment you create an event, not when you launch or start it.

  • Creating a new event uses one credit automatically.

  • Launching, starting or testing an event that already exists does not use another credit.

  • Duplicating an event creates a new event, so it also uses a credit.

Apply a credit to an existing free event

  1. Open the event on the website.

  2. Click Apply Credit near the top.

⚠️ Important: once a credit has been used it cannot be restored, even if you delete the event. See our refund policy.

How do I avoid wasting a credit?

If you created an event by mistake, or you want to reuse an event that has no captures yet, rename it and reuse it instead of deleting it and creating a new one. Deleting an event does not give the credit back.

💡 Tip: want to test before the real event? You can launch your event and test it, or test in preview. Testing does not use an extra credit. Just remember to delete any test photos from the gallery afterwards.

Where can I see how many credits I have left?

  1. Sign in to the dashboard.

  2. Open the Events page. Your number of remaining event credits is shown at the top of the page.

To check whether a specific event is a paid event, open it on the website and look for "Pro event".

Can I use event credits for more than one iPad?

No. Event credits are for events, not device licences, so you cannot use a credit to add another iPad. Running more than one iPad or Mac at the same time needs the Pro+ plan, which is our only multi-device plan. See How Licenses Work.

Common questions

Does starting my event use a credit?

No. The credit is used when the event is created. Starting or launching it later does not use another one.

I duplicated an event. Did that use a credit?

Yes. A duplicate is a new event, so it uses a credit.

Can I get a credit back after deleting an event?

No. Used credits cannot be restored. Rename and reuse events instead of deleting them.

Can I buy just one event?

No. Event credits are only sold in packs of 4.

Do Pro event credits include Pro features?

Yes. An event with a credit applied is a Pro level event.

Can I use a Week Pass or account credit towards an event credit pack?

No. Account credit from our team can only be used towards a subscription, not towards event credit packs. Any account credit shows at checkout when you subscribe.

Can I buy a Basic Membership or Week Pass while I still have credits?

No. You need to use up your event credits first.
