How to Connect
Go to the Account page on the web dashboard
Find the API Access tile and hit "Open"
If you're connecting an agent like ChatGPT, Claude, or Grok: hit "Connect an app"; if you're building your own app and it needs a key, hit "Create new key"
Follow the instructions in the popup
This video shows the connection from start to finish for both ChatGPT and Claude:
You need to have a Pro+ or Enterprise subscription to use our API/MCP.
When you connect an app or create an API key, you'll be asked if you want to use read-only or read/write access:
Be careful! "Read and write" means the connected app or anyone with the key can use your entire account as if they were you -- for example, they could delete all of your events permanently. If you think your key has leaked, revoke it and create a new one. You're responsible for the safety of your account.
What you can do
Here are some videos showing some examples of what you can build!
Making your agents aware when new features are added
When we release new tools on our MCP, your agent (Claude, ChatGPT) won't necessarily find them automatically. Both have an action you can take called "Refresh Tool List", which causes them to go look again at the available tools.
Versions
All connected apps use an API key under the covers, and all keys have an API version:
If we release breaking changes, they'll be on a new API version. You won't get the benefit of those updates until you create a new key which will use the new API version. You cannot upgrade a key or choose a new key's version. To see the current version, look at the top of the page:
Rate Limits
To protect our systems from abuse, there are some rate limits in place. If you hit these limits unexpectedly please contact our support team so we can take a look.
Per API key: at least 120 requests a minute, with a burst of up to 40 more. Expensive operations, such as creates, duplicates and imports, count as more than one request.
Per IP address: 300 requests a minute, shared by every key calling from that address. An integration serving several accounts from one server should plan around this total.
Requests without a key (the docs, connecting an app): 50 every 10 seconds per address.
Running at once, per account: at most 3 heavy operations (imports, renders, fetching a file from a URL) and 10 operations in total, across all its keys. Send further work one after another rather than all together.
Daily caps, per account: 50 duplicates, 1,000 guest emails and 250 guest texts.
